Community kitchen for animals in Delhi amid lockdown

New Delhi, April 19 2020 - Amid the lockdown that has also hit the stray animals, especially dogs and cats, some people, here, have started kitchen for them.

Divya Puri, a chartered accountant with one of the worlds leading firms, has been feeding stray dogs and cats for the past 10 years, and has scaled up her efforts to save these animals from hunger.

She has set up a community kitchen at the terrace of her home in New Friends Colony. She has been feeding stray animals in an around the colony and near Ashram. She also wants to feed stray cows, but could not find supplies.

Anisha, another animal lover who lives in Greater Kailash and works for one of the leading advertising agencies, is also feeding stray dogs in her area. She too has scaled up the feeding of these poor animals amid lockdown.

Anisha said, "I want to feed monkeys as well. But there are limitations. The government should make shelter homes for stray animals and more veterinary hospitals for these animals."
